Secrets of Goal-Setting: Myths, Truths and Tools

Clients come to us to help them improve their lives and achieve their dreams.  How do we help them articulate dreams and goals so they are actionable, but not too narrow? How do we tie individual session goals to a client’s overall client goals? What are ICF’s credentialing markers for goal-setting? How can you as a coach help clients set goals so that they are more likely to get started and  persevere through challenges to achieve them?

In this presentation, we’ll expose common myths about goal-setting, share the latest research on goal achievement, teach you tools for setting goals grounded in your clients’ values and self-efficacy, and show you how to help them create supports and structures that will keep them moving all the way to their goals! It’s true: a goal well-set is half-met.
