President’s Message
Just as April rains nurture the roots and soil that sustain spring blooms, we as coaches must cultivate the ethical principles that ground our work and support meaningful growth.
On April 1, ICF’s updated Code of Ethics takes effect, reinforcing our shared commitment to the core values of professionalism, collaboration, humanity, and equity. Ethics are more than guidelines. They are the roots that keep us steady. Ethical practice is also a fundamental competency in the work we do.
As you reflect on the updated Code, consider how values and principles like these show up in your day-to-day practice:
Integrity
Accountability
Cultural respect
Continuous self-reflection
These are commitments for everyone within the ICF ecosystem. They shape our ethical reasoning and decision-making, and they invite us to remember that behaving ethically often means going beyond what is written.
April showers bring May flowers, but only when we tend the soil and allow the roots to take hold.

Pricing, Packages, and Positioning
Frankie Berkoben (she/her) is a PhD dropout and executive coach with a background in ADHD coaching and engineering consulting. She works with gifted and neurodivergent leaders in tech to build lives that work with their brains, and to level up without burning out. Client organizations include The White House, Google, Airbnb, Meta, Microsoft, and GitHub.
Frankie is a sought-after speaker and facilitator on neurodivergence, belonging, and professional development, with appearances across Fortune 500 ERGs, top management consulting firms, Nobel Prize winning research labs, and conferences including Women in Product, the International Conference on ADHD (four years running), and the Stanford Neurodiversity Summit. She also supports coaching-specific organizations such as the ADHD Coaches Organization and the International Coaching Federation.
In addition to 1:1 coaching, Frankie partners with workplaces to deliver the “Building Your Authentic ADHD Life” group coaching series, applying iterative development and design thinking to self-advocacy and support ecosystems.

Reflection Questions for Coaches
How do I intentionally create a sense of belonging in my coaching relationships, especially for those whose identities or experiences differ from mine?
Whose voices, perspectives, or needs might be missing from the spaces I hold, and how can I make more room for them?
Am I aware of how neurodiversity, culture, or lived experience shapes how my clients engage, learn, and grow?
Let this month be a reminder that equity is not only a value. It is a practice we nurture in every conversation.

Treasurer Update
Valerie Davis
Valerie Davis has served as Treasurer of ICF High Country since June 2020. As we enter Q2 of 2025, we have two financial developments to share.
1) Platform transition: Our two-year contract with Wild Apricot expires this year, and the Board voted to transition to the StarChapter platform. StarChapter is an association management software company serving local chapters across the U.S. and Canada, offering tools that support event registration, membership management, email marketing, responsive website layouts, and eCommerce.
2) Credit union transition: In March, the Board approved transitioning our financial accounts from Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU) to Mountain America Credit Union (MACU). ICCU was a great fit when our organization was named the Professional Coaching Association of Idaho (PCAI). Now that we connect members across six states, we wanted a financial institution with a broader geographic presence. MACU has branches and ATMs across much of the Intermountain West, including Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah.
As we approach the end of our fiscal year (May 31, 2025), you will hear from Valerie again soon with annual report financial information. In the meantime, please reach out with questions or if you are interested in serving on the Board or a volunteer committee.

Tim Austin, PCC
Encompass Life CoachingLife and Vocational Transitions
What inspired you to become a coach, and how has your journey evolved since then?Tim began pursuing coach training while working overseas directing a growing nonprofit. Supporting expat staff through layered life and work transitions revealed how transformative a coach approach could be. That experience ultimately led him to establish a coaching practice in his second half.
What is your coaching philosophy, and how do you support meaningful transformation?Tim helps clients slow down, remember, and reflect. He offers space in the “messy middle,” supporting clients as they discern, discover, and design the change they are navigating.
One piece of advice for other coaches - Give yourself permission to experiment with different approaches and tools. Stretch by coaching outside your niche now and then. You may surprise yourself with how adaptable your skills truly are.
How do you continue to grow as a coach? Tim is a trained ICF assessor and mentor coach. Mentoring is a way to give back while also sharpening his own skills. A deeply reflective practice helps him notice what is arising for both himself and his clients, and how to lean into strengths and growth edges.
