From the Treasurer's Desk
With April bringing both tax season and our 10-year anniversary, we promise this is the only financial update you’ll need to read this month. |
Hello, I’m Valerie Davis, your ICF High Country Board Treasurer. I’ve had the privilege of serving in this role since June 1, 2020, after being elected in May of that year.
When I began as Treasurer, our chapter held approximately $3,800 in combined checking and savings. At that same time, we were navigating the early days of a global pandemic, when nearly all events shifted to virtual formats and uncertainty was high.
Over the past several years, our chapter has experienced remarkable growth and transformation. From our beginnings as the Professional Coaching Association of Idaho in April 2016, to becoming ICF High Country and ultimately a Charter Chapter in 2023, we have steadily expanded both our reach and our impact. Today, our membership has grown significantly, including a strong base of credentialed coaches.
Alongside this growth, we’ve achieved important milestones:
Expanded operational support with a Virtual Assistant
Transitioned membership structures and eliminated dues
Updated bylaws and aligned our fiscal year to the calendar year
Enhanced our digital presence through a new platform
These changes have allowed us to expand programming, streamline operations, and better serve our growing and diverse coaching community.
Throughout these changes, the Board has made intentional financial decisions to:
Invest in ICF tools and resources
Foster connection and collaboration among coaches
Deliver meaningful value to our members
Our financial reports reflect both growth and thoughtful investment. While recent transitions—including the elimination of membership dues and fiscal year adjustments—have reduced our short-term net income, they are intentional decisions to support long-term sustainability and accessibility.
I’m especially proud that we have grown our financial position from $3,800 in 2020 to a strong and stable foundation today, enabling us to continue serving our community with confidence.
At a glance:
Revenue has remained relatively steady over time
Expenses have increased as we invest more in programs and operations
We maintain a strong cash balance to support future stability
As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary and honor our founding leaders, we also look ahead with intention—continuing to steward our resources responsibly while supporting the evolving needs of our members.
Thank you for your trust and continued engagement in High Country. Your participation is what makes this chapter strong.

International Coaching Week
Join Coast to Coast Pro Bono Initiative
We’re excited to once again support the Coast to Coast Pro Bono Coaching Challenge during International Coaching Week.
This initiative invites coaches around the world to offer at least three hours of pro bono coaching—creating meaningful impact for individuals and communities who may not otherwise have access. We encourage you to participate, get creative in how you share your coaching, and log your hours as part of this collective effort to amplify the power of coaching.
Connecting coaches across Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming - building a community of excellence where professional coaches learn, share, and grow together.
