ICF High Country January 2025 Newsletter Header

President’s Message

January’s winds bring resolution, renewal, and possibility. A new year offers us a chance to realign and reconnect with our purpose for ourselves, our clients, and our communities.

This month, I invite you to set your intentions for the year ahead. Change is not optional, but growth is intentional. Reflect on your values and the principles that shape our coaching profession. How will you challenge yourself, deepen connections, and embrace new possibilities in 2025? How will you offer yourself compassion and grace along the way, and extend the same to others?

With intention and purpose guiding us, our chapter will continue to create opportunities to elevate our craft, collaborate meaningfully, and celebrate the impact of International Coaching Federation. As a chapter board, we are also improving systems, structures, and processes to better support our members and make this our strongest year yet.

As you reflect on your vision for 2025, I leave you with the words of Oprah Winfrey:

“Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”

Happy New Year,

Marianna Henry

President, ICF High Country

Celebrating 30 Years of ICF

Throughout 2025, we will celebrate a major milestone: the 30th anniversary of the International Coaching Federation.

Founded in 1995 by professional coach Thomas Leonard, ICF began as a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting coaches and advancing the profession. Over the past three decades, ICF has grown into a global community shaping the future of coaching worldwide.

We invite you to explore the milestones, impact, and evolution of ICF throughout this anniversary year.

Revised ICF Code of Ethics

Effective April 1, 2025

We are pleased to announce that a revised ICF Code of Ethics will take effect on April 1, 2025. This update reflects ICF’s continued commitment to the highest ethical standards and best practices.

The revision process spanned more than 15 months and included contributions from ICF members, credential holders, and stakeholders across the global coaching ecosystem. Additional details and resources will be shared soon.

Membership Structure Spotlight

Our new membership structure is now in effect, and system transitions are underway.

What’s Changing:

  • Chapter Reserve members will automatically transition to Charter Affiliate membership, provided they are current ICF Global members and have selected ICF High Country as their affiliate chapter.

  • Members whose ICF Global membership has lapsed or who selected a different affiliate chapter will transition to Guest status.

Guest Access: Guests may continue attending events on a pay-as-you-go basis but will no longer have website login access or coach profile listings.

Why the Change: This update aligns our chapter with ICF Global standards and simplifies membership. Charter Affiliate members will no longer pay a separate chapter fee. Your ICF Global membership now covers it all.

Why Event Fees Exist: Event fees support high-quality programming, CCE accreditation, and fair compensation for our speakers.

Fostering Gratitude and Inclusion in Coaching

As we begin a new year and honor Martin Luther King Jr. this month, we are reminded of the ongoing work required to create a fair and just society.

Dr. King’s legacy reflects values deeply aligned with ICF’s core principles: dignity, respect, and empowerment. As coaches, we create spaces for clients to explore their potential and move forward with intention. By integrating equity and inclusion into our work, we help foster belonging, possibility, and lasting impact.

A Call to Action
