What Will You Bring Forward
September has always felt like a month of transition.
Summer begins to loosen its hold, routines return, classrooms fill again, and here in our High Country states, we start to notice those first signs that fall is on its way. There is something about this season that invites us to refocus—to consider what we want to learn, where we want to invest our energy, and what we want to carry forward.
This September also marks 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001. For many of us, that day remains vivid. Alongside the profound loss, I remember the way people reached toward one another in the days that followed—neighbors helping neighbors, communities gathering, and people finding ways to serve. Twenty-five years later, it feels worth pausing to remember the lives lost and to reflect on the kind of community we want to continue creating.
That idea of community feels especially relevant for ICF High Country right now. As we look toward 2027, this month begins the start of our election cycle, starting with identifying members interested in serving on our Board. Our chapter spans a large and wonderfully diverse region, and it is strongest when different voices, experiences, perspectives, and strengths are represented in its leadership.
We currently have seven Board positions opening for 2027. If you've ever wondered whether Board service might be for you, I encourage you to fill out our Board Interest Form.
And importantly, completing the form is not a commitment to serve. It simply starts a conversation. Our Board Members will connect with you to talk about the opportunities, answer questions, and explore where your strengths and interests might best support the chapter.
You don't need to have all the answers. You don't need to have served on a Board before. What matters is a willingness to contribute, collaborate, and help shape what comes next for our coaching community.
As we enter this new season, perhaps that's a question worth considering for all of us:
What do I want to bring forward, and where might I be willing to contribute it?

Upcoming Chapter Events
PCC & MCC Assessment Updates
ICF is updating its written assessment for PCC and MCC candidates. The revised exam introduces a new name — the PCC-MCC Exam — and includes the following changes:
Adds knowledge-based, multiple-choice questions alongside situational judgment questions.
Includes 80 total items: 36 multiple-choice knowledge items and 44 situational judgment.
Incorporates the 2025 Core Competency and Code of Ethics updates.
Reduces the total exam time from the current three hours to two and a half hours.
Candidates can schedule the new PCC-MCC Exam starting October 9, with the first available test dates on November 10.
As we approach the November 10 launch date, candidates will have the option to choose which exam they wish to take as they progress through the certification process.
